Born in Bentong, but raised elsewhere. I was the first born to Mohd Yaacob, a teacher and Zalimah, a clerk in Bentong. My dad left for Kirkby, Liverpool after I was conceived, and when I was born he wasn't around. He was so sad when I got polio at the age of 3 1/2, so my mom had to shoulder most of the emotional burden. She tried her best to make me stronger and not feel inferior. At the age of 4, all three of us left for Penang. After that, my two brothers were born. I am my dad's girl even more now than before...cause he died 11 years ago and I just carried on with his legacy. He established KIPSAS in Kuantan and AIB in Genting. His legacy is not a burden for me to carry on because I love teaching. It so happened that I could draw so I stumbled into architecture. I would have done anything - physics, chemistry, biology but not maths. I was too impatient...
